Successful start of operations of Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) as Registered Reporting Mechanism (RRM) for reporting of Fundamental Data for SSOs and LSOs under REMIT

April 8, 2016

On 7 April 2016, Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) has successfully started operations as Registered Reporting Mechanism (RRM) for the reporting of Fundamental Data to ACER on behalf of Storage System Operators (SSOs) and LNG System Operators (LSOs) according to the Implementing Acts of the Regulation on Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT).

SSOs and LSOs can fulfil their reporting obligations for the following types of Fundamental Data:

  • Aggregated data for SSOs: article 9(7)-9(8)
  • Aggregated data for LSOs: article 9(3)-9(4)
  • Disaggregated data for SSOs on behalf of market participants: article 9(9)

GIE facilitates the reporting of Fundamental Data for SSOs and LSOs and for SSOs on behalf of market participants to ARIS, ACER’s REMIT Information System. This service is available to GIE members as well as to SSOs or LSOs that are no members of GIE.

On 15 February 2016, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) confirmed the status of Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) as Registered Reporting Mechanism (RRM) for Fundamental Data reporting of SSOs and LSOs. GIE is registered as RRM and is listed in the list of RRMs on the REMIT portal at: https://www.acer-remit.eu/portal/list-of-rrm . GIE’s assigned RRM ID is B0000887W.BE.

GIE will continue improving its AGSI+ and ALSI platform for providing useful public data on the aggregated use of storage and LNG facilities to the market and stakeholders. The existing platform will be upgraded soon to ensure consistency with Fundamental Data reported under REMIT.
