Today the GSE Plenary meeting of members has re-elected Jean-Marc Leroy, CEO of Storengy, GSE President. Jean-Marc Leroy has been fulfilling this function since March 2008.
Upon his re-election, Jean-Marc Leroy said: “I am honoured to be once again entrusted the leadership of GSE and would like to express my great satisfaction with the close cooperation of storage system operators grouped under the umbrella of GSE. I am also confident that GSE will continue to provide added value to the market through the know-how and voluntary initiatives of its members.”
The re-election of Jean-Marc Leroy, has coincided with further improvement of the GSE transparency platform “Aggregated Stock Inventory” (AGSI). As from today the AGSI platform features country-wise disaggregated data for the Central European countries : Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovak Republic. The aggregated data for these countries continues to be also available under the Baumgarten hub.
Referring to this development, Jean-Marc Leroy stated: “The recent cold snap of early February not only gave proof of the crucial role of storage for security of supply but also reaffirmed the importance of the GSE Aggregated Gas Stock Inventory as a market information tool. During this exceptional period the GSE transparency platform served as a reliable source of information for market participants and formal bodies such as the Gas Coordination Group.” He added : “Thanks to the contribution of 35 European storage system operators we are proud to be able to further boost our initiative”.
The GSE Aggregated Gas Stock Inventory contains daily data on storage use and inventory levels in Europe. It includes information at country level as well as on market area basis covering in total 85% of the EU storage capacity. Following the positive feedback received from stakeholders and the European Commission, GSE is continuously improving and extending the AGSI platform.
