Decarbonising the Gas Infrastructure in Central-Eastern and South-Eastern Europe with a Sustainable Recovery

9 July, 2020 @ 14:00 - 16:00 CEST

Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) organised an online event on “Decarbonising the Gas Infrastructure in Central-Eastern and South-Eastern Europe with a Sustainable Recovery” on 9 July 2020.

The webinar brought together high-level speakers from the European Commission, the Polish Presidency of the Visegrad Group, the European Parliament, the energy industry and academia.

The online workshop covered the latest steps of the different Central-Eastern and South-Eastern European countries towards a sustainable decarbonisation of their regions, their ambitions and expected pathways in the transitional period as portrayed in their final National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs).

The spectrum of panellists tackled the resilience of the gas infrastructure sector in the recovery period and exchanged views on the newly-released European Commission’s strategies on Energy System Integration and Hydrogen.
