1st Monthly Methane Monday meeting 2022

7 February, 2022 @ 14:30 - 15:30 CET

WEBEX online meeting

Be ready to join on 7 February at 14.30 CET and hear about MiQ standards and certification of methane emissions, presented by Mr. Georges Tijbosch, MiQ Senior Advisor.

Let’s see some already well-implemented cases and discuss how MiQ could fit with the new EU regulation and help to reduce methane emissions by the gas industry.

Agenda

Introduction, Ms. Karolina Čegir

MiQ certification, Mr. Georges Tijbosch

Mr. Georges Tijbosch, CEO at MiQ, a not-for-profit climate tech foundation will provide an overview of:

  • MiQ’s gas certification system, which allows natural gas to be credibly certified based on its methane emissions performance;
  • MiQ has developed standard for upstream production, for boosting and gathering, processing and LNG, a standard for pipelines under development;
  • MiQ’s Certified Supply Chain, which allows the oil and gas industry to understand the emissions impact of gas across the entire supply chain;
  • The benefits of MiQ certification for gas operators and buyers, and wider emissions targets;
  • How the MiQ Standard complements EU regulation, and international climate commitments, like Global Methane Pledge.
